Traceability System

Quality, Traceability & Warranty

Reflective Fabrications backs every product we manufacture with a two year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
You don't need to be the original buyer to make a claim, but you will need to provide proof of purchase from Reflective Fabrications or an authorised reseller. This protects both parties and ensures we're assessing our own products.

With roots firmly planted in Australian manufacturing since 1988, we continue to uphold the standards of quality and durability that define our heritage.

Traceability

From the first thread to the field.

Every garment we make has a complete production history attached to it. This page explains how the system works, from the moment your order is placed to what happens if something ever goes wrong.

The Batch Number

When your order enters production, it is assigned a unique Batch Number in the format RFA-6XXXX.

No two orders share the same number. This number follows your order through every stage of production and ends up on the label of every finished garment.

If you ever need to contact us about a product, the Batch Number on the label is all you need. It gives us the full history of that item immediately.

What We Track

Before production begins, we log the batch details of every raw material going into your order. This includes Night Series reflective tape, fabric, zips, and thread. Every material is recorded against your Batch Number in our production system.

We also retain a physical sample of every tape batch we receive. These are catalogued and stored so they can be independently tested if a question ever arises. We do not rely solely on supplier documentation. We hold the physical evidence ourselves.

How Your Order Moves Through Production

Your approved proof and diagrams are locked in before production starts. They become the benchmark everything is measured against. Your order then moves through each stage: printing, lamination, and sewing, with floor staff signing off at each point against that proof.

The Batch Number is not applied to a finished garment until it passes final QA. If it does not match the proof, it does not leave the floor.

WHAT IS ON YOUR LABEL

Every finished garment carries three things on its label.

Batch Number

This will be your permanent reference for the life of the product.

Tape Expiry Date

The date after which the Night Series reflective tape may no longer meet AS/NZS Class R reflectivity standards.

QR Code

Scan it to access warranty terms, care instructions, or to lodge a concern directly.

Reflective tape degrades over time through UV exposure, field wear, and wash cycles. Gear that looks intact but no longer reflects to standard is a safety risk. The expiry date is there so you know when that point is approaching.

THE QR CODE

Scanning the QR code on any garment takes you directly to our warranty page. From there you can read the full warranty terms, care instructions, and if needed, lodge a quality concern directly.

Concerns lodged through the QR code receive an Incident Report number immediately. That number is your reference for the life of the report. You will be kept informed at every step until it is resolved.

Batch Issue

IF A BATCH ISSUE IS IDENTIFIED

Because every order is linked to specific raw material batches, we can run the system in reverse.

If a batch-level issue is ever identified, whether from a client report, an internal check, or a supplier notification, we can locate every affected product across all orders and initiate contact within 24 hours.
